ABOUT THE COOPERATIVE:
In the coffee producing world, it’s extremely rare for women to participate in selling or in deciding
how money from sales will be used. These Peruvian women who live and work in the jungle of
the Andes are a remarkable exception. Beyond the standard fair trade price premiums, we also
contribute a portion of the proceeds of every pound of Cafe Femenino sold to our local women’s
shelter in the Big Bend region of Far West Texas.
